What Is The Purpose And Precautions Of An Electric Knife Pen

Leave a message

Electric knife pen is a consumable product used in the operating room, which plays a role in ablation, cutting, and coagulation of biological tissues during the surgical process. Electric knife pen is an accessory product of high-frequency electric knife. When using electric knife pen, a neutral electrode is required as the circuit for high-frequency working current.

An electric knife pen usually includes a pen body, a function tube set at the front end of the pen body, a circuit board system electrically connected to the function tube set inside the pen body, and two color buttons of the control circuit board system set on the outer surface of the pen body. The yellow button controls the cutting operation of the function tube of the electric knife pen, and the blue button is used to control the coagulation operation of the function tube of the electric knife pen.

Precautions for Electric Knife Pen
1. Before use, carefully read the user manual to prevent accidental operation.
2. Patients with pacemakers generally cannot use high-frequency electrocautery, as high-frequency can interfere with the pacemaker, causing it to malfunction or even stop beating.
3. There should be no flammable or explosive gases, liquids, or other substances in the operating room, especially during chest or head surgery. Oxygen should be temporarily removed when used in the airway area.
4. The power supply for high-frequency electric knives should be provided to the machine through a three eye socket with a reliable grounding wire.
5. The electrode plate, blade, connecting cable, and the electric knife system composed of patients must not come into contact with grounded metal or metal with a large capacitance to ground. Otherwise, the electric knife will transition from a suspended state to a grounded state. During surgery, patients are also not allowed to carry or come into contact with ungrounded conductors (metal). Although these conductors are not grounded, they will concentrate high-frequency electromagnetic fields and cause serious high-frequency radiation. During surgery, medical staff must wear rubber gloves with good insulation.
