The electric knife pen, also known as the high-frequency surgical electrode or ablation electrode, is an accessory product of the high-frequency electric knife host. It is used in conjunction with high-frequency surgical equipment and has functions such as ablation, cutting electrocoagulation, and attraction to tissues during surgery. When using the electric knife pen, a neutral electrode (negative electrode plate) is required as the circuit for high-frequency working current.
Electric knife pens are divided into hand controlled electric knife pens and foot controlled electric knife pens. The most commonly used is a handheld electric knife pen. The yellow button on the handle of the handheld electric knife pen has cutting function, while the blue button has coagulation function. There is no button on the foot controlled electric knife pen, but there is a color display on the foot switch, where the yellow pedal represents cutting and the blue pedal represents coagulation.
The method of using an electric knife pen:
1. Assess the patient's skin condition, select a suitable location to install the negative electrode plate, and connect the negative electrode plate plug to the machine.
2. Select and inspect the negative electrode plate, check the wires and clamps; Choose a negative electrode plate of appropriate size and shape (for infants and young children weighing less than 15KG, a special negative electrode plate for infants and young children should be used), and check the adhesion force of the conductive adhesive.
3. Select the appropriate brand of electric knife according to the surgery, and check for any broken power supply, electrode cables, or exposed metal wires.
4. Connect the electric knife pen to the machine, perform power on self-test, and adjust the output power after it shows that the installation of the electrode plate is correct without alarm indication.
5. After use, turn off the power of the host and unplug it. The negative electrode plate is a disposable product. Please dispose of it promptly as medical waste.
